  \nWe are very excited to announce a workshop on software basics in HEP a
 nd STEM organized through the HEP Software Foundation\, IRIS-HEP\, and th
 e Office of Workforce Pathways and Partnerships at the Fermi National Acce
 lerator Laboratory.\nThe times for the workshop are in US Central time zon
 e.\nOver two days we will cover the fundamentals of: \nUnix - shell\, ba
 sh commands and scripting\nGit and Github – how to version control your 
 code and data  \nPython – fundamentals of using the Python language fo
 r analysis\nAI in Python and AI tools  – Introductory concepts in AI\, 
 with hands-on examples in Python and an overview of AI tools and AI resour
 ces at Fermilab\nThis training is aimed at those who are new to HEP and wa
 nt a fast-track to competency with software fundamentals\, as well the non
 -expert self-taught who wish to ensure they do not have gaps in their know
 ledge.\nThe training material will be taught by tutors expert in HEP softw
 are. Interactive hands-on sessions  lead by the tutor will be supported b
 y a number of helpers to ensure all participants are able to follow and un
 derstand the material.\nGiven the limited number of participants\, all par
 ticipants are expected to attend the whole workshop.\nPlease contact the o
 rganizers (email us) in case of any questions.\nNotes for Participants\nPa
 rticipants are required to have their own laptop for the workshop. If you 
 need one\, contact your mentor or the internship organizers to arrange for
  a Fermilab loaner laptop.\nTo participate in the workshop\, you will need
  access to the software described under the "prerequisites" tab. Make sur
